The HELI-COIL AT3585-02C129 is a 2-56 x 1-1/2" Tangless Screw-Locking Insert made from stainless steel. This insert is designed to provide permanent, wear-resistant screw threads, effectively eliminating the need for tang break-off and retrieval. Its tangless design ensures that no loose tangs are left behind, making it ideal for applications where foreign object debris (FOD) cannot be present. The insert offers positive self-locking torque, complying with NSAM8846 standards, and is available in both inch and metric series. It requires no staking, locking, swaging, keying, or interference fit, and automatically adjusts to any expansion or contraction of the parent material. The insert anchors permanently in place against the tapped hole and positively secures threaded members against vibration or shock loosening. The material used is 304 stainless steel, providing excellent corrosion resistance. The insert has a nominal length of 1.5D and a free coil diameter ranging from 0.1100" to 0.1190".
